Description
This 1 day Oxygen therapy administration training course aims to provide the knowledge and practical competence required to administer medical oxygen to a patient in line with current guidelines and protocols. The course covers how and when to administer oxygen and the safety concerns which need to be considered regarding the carrying, storage and administration of oxygen.
Please note: For the delivery of this training course, the client's must provide and have the relevant Oxygen therapy equipment onsite such as an oxygen cylinder etc
Duration
This Oxygen therapy administration training course is taught for 6 hours over 1 day and consists of theoretical and practical sessions. This course can also be delivered spread over a maximum of 3 weeks, ensuring that each session is a minimum of two hours (subject to extra cost). The class ratio for this qualification is a maximum of 12 learners to 1 Trainer/Assessor.

Assessment
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor. There will be practical assessments throughout the course followed by a written assessment at the end of the course which includes multiple choice and short answer questions.
Certification
A HSE compliant certificate of course completion from MEDISAFE TRAINING lasting three years will be emailed within 48 hours to the lead person subject to successful completion of the course by the delegate.
OFQUAL accredited and regulated RQF Level 3 Oxygen therapy administration course certificates can also be arranged at an additional cost but this must be made known to us at the time of the booking and prior to the commencement of the training course.
Important Information
Please note that delegates must be at least 18 years of age and physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
It may be possible to grant a reasonable adjustment for a learner who has a disability, medical condition or learning need: For example, assistance could be given with reading or writing.
Due to the practical nature of the first aid assessment there are physical demands. Learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and successfully demonstrate all required elements of the practical assessment on their own, with the casualty on the floor, as in a real-life situation: For example, a learner will need to get to the floor unassisted and demonstrate effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a manikin at floor level.

Delegates should have good English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete the assessments.
