An Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening, serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings and if it is not treated appropriately, it can be fatal. Therefore it is very important that the First Aider is able to recognise and differentiate between mild to moderate allergic reactions and the potentially life-threatening anaphylactic reactions immediately.
This course is designed to help and assist First Aiders to enable them to recognise, manage and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively. The topics covered in this course are in accordance with current guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
