Description
This 1 day Emergency Paediatric First Aid training course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. This Emergency Paediatric First Aid training course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support and so is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, and need to provide emergency Paediatric First Aid when required.
New legislation from the Department of Education requires all newly qualified level two and three child carers to have either an emergency paediatric first aid or full paediatric first aid certificate. The one day Emergency Paediatric first aid course is suitable for nannies or child carers registering on the voluntary childcare register or for newly qualified child carers complying with the latest legislation.
This EPFA course covers the topics recommended by OFSTED for EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) for the 1 day Paediatric First Aid Training of staff. The topics covered in this EPFA course are in accordance with current guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
Duration
This Emergency Paediatric First Aid training course is taught for 6 hours over 1 day and consists of theoretical and practical sessions. This 6 hours EPFA training course can also be spread over a maximum of 4 weeks, ensuring that each session is a minimum of 2 hours (subject to extra cost). The class ratio for this qualification is a maximum of 12 learners to 1 Trainer/Assessor.

Assessment
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor. There will be a short quiz at the end of the course which includes multiple choice and short answer questions.
Certification
A HSE compliant certificate of course completion from MEDISAFE TRAINING lasting three years will be emailed within 48 hours to the lead person subject to successful completion of the course by the delegate. Hard copy certificates can be provided at additional cost per certificate.
OFQUAL Accredited and Regulated RQF Level 3 Emeregncy Paediatric First Aid course with certificates can also be arranged at an additional cost but this must be made known to us at the time of the booking and prior to the commencement of the training course.
Important Information
Please note that delegates must be at least 18 years of age and be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Delegates should have good English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete the assessments.
Please also note that ID will need to be checked at the outset of the course for candidate verification process.
