Description
This mental health awareness course provides delegates with the information and knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to deal and communicate with people with mental disorders and what help and support they can offer them. It also teaches them how to recognise and manage stress. The delegates will learn about the benefits of good mental health, how to recognise mental health stigma which can lead to discrimination and how to deal with it.
Delegates will also learn about the roles of the Health Care Worker in mental health and what mental health First Aid actions they need to undtake when they come in contact with someone suffering from a mental health condition or illness. They will also learn about the steps they can take to improve their own mental well being.
Duration
This course is taught over 2 to 3 hours depending on group size.

Certification
A certificate of course completion from MEDISAFE TRAINING will be emailed within 48 hours to the lead person subject to successful completion of the course by the delegate.
Important Information
Please note that delegates must be at least 18 years of age and be able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Delegates should have good English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete the assessments.
