Description

 

Fire safety training is a legal requirement. This course is taught according to the UK Fire Legislation which  requires all employers to ensure that employees are provided with adequate fire safety training.  This  Fire Training course is  designed for people who need to comply with the Fire Safety  requirements of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 - often simply called the Fire Safety Order or FSO.   


The OFQUAL regulated qualification is suitable for a learner who has responsibility in the workplace to undertake fire safety requirements and will provide learners with the knowledge to carry out designated duties as a Fire Warden/Marshal.  The qualification will also increase fire safety awareness for all employees. The qualification covers fire hazards, risk assessment, control of fire in the workplace and duties of both employers and employees.



Duration


The minimum classroom contact time of 6 hours must be delivered over a minimum of half a day. The course can be spread over a maximum of 3 weeks, ensuring that each session is a minimum of two hours. The class ratio for this qualification is a maximum of 16 learners to 1 Trainer/Assessor. Assessment

 

The qualification is assessed by a written assessment. A learner must successfully pass the written assessment to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred. The learner will complete a written assessment paper containing  open and multiple choice questions .


 

Certification

 

Level 2 RQF  certificates   for the successful   delegates  will be issued by an OFQUAL regulated Awarding Body to the course organiser.   The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.


 

Important Information

 

Please note that  candidates must be at least 16 years of age and physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

 

Candidates should have good English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete the assessments.

 

Please also note that ID will need to be checked at the outset of the course for candidate verification process. 

 

  • The training room should be quiet and of appropriate size.
  • Staff should be off work and not expected to be on duty.
  • Staff attending should remain on the course for the entire duration of the training course.
