Level 2 First Aid Risk Assessment Principles and Practice OFQUAL RQF training course
This course complies with the guidelines and criteria as defined by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) in respect of the 1981 (First Aid) Regulations. The topics covered in this course are in accordance with current guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK).
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and trained first aid personnel. A risk assessment of first aid needs determines the workplace requirements. This level 2 First Aid Risk Assessment qualification enables learners to gain the knowledge to produce a risk assessment of first aid needs for a workplace ensuring that all HSE requirements are being met.
The qualification requires a minimum of six contact hours and can be delivered over one day or spread over a maximum of three weeks but each session must be a minimum of two hours duration. The class ratio for this qualification is a maximum of 12 learners to 1 Trainer/Assessor.

The qualification is assessed by a written assessment paper. The learner must successfully pass the written assessment paper containing open and multiple choice questions to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred. Trainer/Assessors may also ask a learner additional questions if felt necessary to confirm their knowledge and understanding.
Level 2 RQF certificates for the successful delegates will be posted from an OFQUAL regulated Awarding Body to the course organiser. The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.
Please note that delegates must be at least 18 years of age and be able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Delegates should have good English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and to complete the assessments.
